Concept

The region’s historical dishes prepared with innovative technologies for everyday cosmopolitans.

The restaurant’s name, Liszt, is a playful nod to two distinct and crucial elements of its foundation: it refers to Ferenc Liszt, one of the world’s greatest classical pianists and a renowned Hungarian musician, and its literal meaning of ‘flour,’ an important ingredient in the bread that is baked fresh on the premises.

The menu at Liszt is themed around music. Appetizers are listed as ‘Prelude’ and soups are the ‘Symphony’, while the main courses are known as ‘Concerto.’

Menu items are created with fresh, local ingredients—meats, seasonal vegetables, fruits, fresh bread, dairy products and cheeses—from farms and purveyors across Hungary, Transylvania, the Dalmatian coast and parts of modern-day Ukraine and Slovakia.

Freshly baked bread, salted homemade butter and in-house filtered water awaits all our guests, to truly arrive and prepare for the new experience.

Its soul is the yeast, born in our hands from grape seeds and grape skin. Week to week, month to month, we care for our own yeast, the magic of life.

We offer fresh, homemade butter. We make it ourselves from fresh cream and all we add is a touch of salt.

Our fresh, pure water is the essence of life. Carefully cleaned and filtered, we bottle it ourselves. Simple, refreshing, invigorating, and most importantly, served with love.

Ferenc Jóvér

From an early point in his career, Ferenc was influenced by classical, French cuisine and he is inspired by the work of chefs who create traditional and simple dishes, while keeping the original purpose of the dish as well. This is what he stand for as the Executive Chef of Liszt Restaurant as well, he is commited to serving the region’s historical dishes prepared with innovative technologies for everyday cosmopolitans. Ferenc’s favourite season is definitely autumn-winter, when he can get creative with interesting ingredients like venison or mushrooms, resulting in intense flavours and a complex gastronomic experience.

Zsuzsanna Karádi has a truly creative mind; for her, the plate is her playground. She is constantly driven to create a lasting impression: fruity flavours and chocolate are uniquely presented, pastel shades of purple with highlights of red and bright yellow.
